We are excited to introduce you to Jenn Martin, our incredible Program Director! Originally from North Carolina, Jenn moved to California 5 years ago and has been working for BeachSports ever since. She is a former Division 1 collegiate soccer player and holds a Kinesiology degree from the University of North Carolina. During the school year, Jenn teaches health and PE and coaches soccer at Wildwood school in Santa Monica. Using her education and professional experience, Jenn has helped us evolve our program curriculum and train our staff on effective child communication techniques.  We are stoked to introduce you to Jenn and can’t wait for you to meet her in person at BeachSports!

We recently chatted with Jenn to learn more about her background, her favorite beach activities, her secret talent, and more. Read on to find out!

Hi Jenn! First off, please tell us a little bit about yourself.

I was born and raised right outside of Raleigh, North Carolina in a small town called Apex! I have a sister who is 22 months younger than me (we are best friends) who currently lives in Raleigh and my parents, who are incredible role models, still live in Apex. Soccer was always my passion growing up. I was lucky enough to receive a scholarship and have an opportunity to play soccer at UNCG where I graduated with a Kinesiology degree.

I have been teaching Health & PE, as well as coaching women’s soccer for the past 8 years! My husband was born & raised in Redondo Beach which was what persuaded me and my two dogs to drive cross country 3 years ago and relocate on the west coast. I am loving life, living in Hermosa Beach, and am extremely passionate about working with kids of all ages! I also currently teach and coach at Wildwood, a private school in Santa Monica.
