Ready For Summer?

June 22nd - September 4th, 2020

Starting at Age 7, our Surf Camp is designed for both first time surfers and those looking to take their surfing to the next level. Our incredibly low instructor to camper ratios and small class size ensure focused, quality instruction for participants of all abilities. Our Surf Camp is divided into two group, Rippers and Chargers. Keep reading below to see which one is right for you.

Rippers

Our Rippers Surf Camp is designed for first time surfers and beginners looking to improve their confidence and competence in the waves. Our small class size and incredibly low instructor to camper ratio of 1:4 ensures a safe environment with hyper-focused, individualized instruction for each camper. In addition to learning surfing techniques, campers will also be educated on other essential aspects of surfing including, wave formation, tides, rip tides and currents, etiquette, equipment and much more! We provide a variety of different foam surfboards for campers to choose from ranging in size from 5’6″ to 9′ so campers can experience a variety of equipment throughout the week.

CAMP SIZE = 8 Participants + 2 Coaches

Chargers

Our Chargers Surf Camp is designed for intermediate to advanced surfers who already have the ability to catch and ride waves without the assistance of a coach. Instruction for Chargers will be focused on style and intermediate skills such as bottom-turning, cutting back and maneuvers. Chargers will also learn about the ocean and surfing, with lessons on wave formation, tides, currents, etiquette, competition and equipment. Chargers are welcome to bring their own surfboard or use one of the many foam board options we have. With a low coach to camper ratio of 1:6, we guarantee Chargers will see improvement in their skills, knowledge and confidence by the end of the week.

CAMP SIZE = 6 Participants + 1 Coach

VOLLEYBALL CAMP TEMPORARILY UNAVAILABLE DUE TO COVID GUIDELINES

Manhattan Beach is the “Home of Beach Volleyball” so what better place to learn the game than right in the heart of it on the north side of the pier.  It’s not uncommon to see AVP professionals training on the court next to our camp, especially when the tournament is in town!  Starting at Age 7, our Volleyball Camp provides beginner to intermediate training in passing, hitting, serving, rotation and rules of the game. Campers are broken into groups based on experience with a 5 to 1 Camper to Coach ratio.

Ocean safety and awareness education is a necessity for the kids of our beach communities. Unlike other Junior Lifeguard programs, we pride ourselves on providing a relaxed and fun environment with incredibly low instructor to participant ratios of 1:5 and a small class size. Although the lifeguard skills are being learned, we remove the competition intensity other programs strive for. Instruction will cover ocean safety skills, how to identify dangerous conditions, how to safely navigate out of a riptide, paddling, ocean swimming and much more.

Learn to skateboard or take your skating to the next level at our Skate Camp! Our expert instructors provide individualized instruction for all abilities, starting from the very basic, getting from A to B, to intermediate tricks including ollies, flip tricks, grinds, ramp skating and much more! Our incredibly low 1:5 instructor to camper ratio and small class size ensure increased confidence and skills by the end of the week.

Safety is our number one priority. All campers are required to wear a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads and closed toe shoes.  Our coaches are First-Aid & CPR Certified and enforce strict safety rules. They are also very talented skateboarders with a lot of knowledge to share with their campers!  Click Here to learn more about our coaches.  Don’t have pads or a skateboard? No worries!  We have some you can use.

Coronavirus Update: Our Skateboard instruction, specifically on our ramps, involves touching of arms and hands by our instructors to reduce the risk of injury. It is unknown how the Coronavirus distancing policies will apply to this type of instruction and therefore may affect programming. We will update you as we learn more. Please note our refund policy allows for 100% refund of fees if the program is affected by Coronavirus.
