Lily Goldstein

Head Coach | Beach Camp

Hi there! My name is Lily.  I’m a second-year psychology major at Cal Poly SLO, and have plans to pursue my passion for working with children either through the psychological field or through education (I’m still deciding J!). When I’m away at school, I work as a student assistant at the ASI Children’s Center, where I get to interact with children in a classroom environment. For the past two summers, I have loved being a camp counselor at Hume Lake, and am looking forward to working in a camp setting again so close to home! The beach is one of my absolute favorite places, and I’m so excited to be joining BeachSports this summer to continue doing what I’m passionate about in a place I love. I can’t wait to meet everyone!

Starting at Age 7, our Surf Camp is designed for both first time surfers and those looking to take their surfing to the next level. Our incredibly low instructor to camper ratios and small class size ensure focused, quality instruction for participants of all abilities. Our Surf Camp is divided into two group, Rippers and Chargers. Keep reading below to see which one is right for you.

Rippers

Our Rippers Surf Camp is designed for first time surfers and beginners looking to improve their confidence and competence in the waves. Our small class size and incredibly low instructor to camper ratio of 1:4 ensures a safe environment with hyper-focused, individualized instruction for each camper. In addition to learning surfing techniques, campers will also be educated on other essential aspects of surfing including, wave formation, tides, rip tides and currents, etiquette, equipment and much more! We provide a variety of different foam surfboards for campers to choose from ranging in size from 5’6″ to 9′ so campers can experience a variety of equipment throughout the week.

CAMP SIZE = 12 Participants + 3 Coaches

Chargers

Our Chargers Surf Camp is designed for intermediate to advanced surfers who already have the ability to catch and ride waves without the assistance of a coach. Instruction for Chargers will be focused on style and intermediate skills such as bottom-turning, cutting back and maneuvers. Chargers will also learn about the ocean and surfing, with lessons on wave formation, tides, currents, etiquette, competition and equipment. Chargers are welcome to bring their own surfboard or use one of the many foam board options we have. With a low coach to camper ratio of 1:6, we guarantee Chargers will see improvement in their skills, knowledge and confidence by the end of the week.
