Who we are
Jenn Martin
PROGRAM DIRECTOR
I’m originally from Apex, NC, and moved to California nine years ago—I LOVE being a part of the BeachSports team! With my background as a D1 soccer player and a degree in Kinesiology from UNCG, I bring over ten years of teaching and coaching experience to my role. As a mom of two and now the full-time Program Director, I feel so fortunate to work with kids of all ages—from young kids discovering new skills and passions to teens starting their first jobs and young professionals excited for mentorship and growth opportunities.
I love this community and all the people in it! I truly believe that it’s our people who make BeachSports so special! You can have the best curriculum, organization, and structure, but none of that really matters without the right people leading the way. Our team members play a huge role in shaping each child’s experience here, and that’s why we look for individuals who bring contagious positive energy every day, embrace challenges with a growth mindset, and are dedicated to being inspiring role models for the next generation.
One of the best parts of my job is getting to introduce families to our amazing team—good-hearted, passionate people who love working with kids and sharing their unique skills and enthusiasm with others.
I’m passionate about creating a warm, safe space where kids can learn something new, make great memories, and have a lot of fun along the way. I love connecting with our kids and their families to ensure that each day is a positive, enriching experience.
Looking forward to another amazing season with all of you!

OWNER + EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Born and raised in Manhattan Beach, I’ve been a passionate waterman my whole life. I began teaching surf lessons as a 13 year old at the Manhattan Beach pier with Jimmy Miller’s Pure Surfing Experience (Jimmy Miller Foundation) and have been involved in the development and operation of youth programs every summer since. I’m a Mira Costa graduate and have a business degree from the University of San Diego, where I was captain of the surf team and Collegiate National Champion in 2007.
I am a father of three amazing kids, 4, 6 and 8, who are my guide and inspiration for how we operate our BeachSports programs. “Would I be comfortable dropping my kids off here?” is the question that drives every decision and improvement we make at BeachSports. Last summer my youngest attended her first week of our BEACH program with her brothers.
